Clinics, Off Season Play, and Skill Development

When you are in the off season, it is a great time to work on your skill development and get yourself out there so colleges know who you are. This can include playing for a club, attending clinics, or just working on your individual skills.

Attend Clinics!

The best way to get seen by coaches and see if you like their program, is to attend clinics at the college you are interested in. Most colleges offer field hockey clinics in the spring or camps in the summer. So, look on their websites and/or get linked up to their social media pages so you are alerted when they announce clinic opportunities or camps.

Individual Skill Development

Finally, you may want to work on individual skill development. You do not need to be part of a program to go into your backyard and practice shots, or practice pulls in your living room.
